PE & Sport Premium

Our Vision

To promote lifelong values in health and physical activity by providing enjoyable opportunities for all young people to participate in quality curriculum PE and school sport, whilst improving their self-confidence therefore allowing them to achieve their potential in all aspects of school and community life.

Sports Premium Funding

The government has provided funding of £150 million per annum since 2014/2015 to improve provision of Physical Education (PE) and sport in primary schools. The current government have committed to this expenditure for their tenure.
In 2014 Prime Minister David Cameron committed to continue the funding for the Primary PE and Sports Premium and this continues for the 2022-2023 academic year.
This funding is ring-fenced, which means it can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

Competitive Sports
In addition, the children are given frequent opportunities to represent the school in Trust and Borough wide competitions for various sports, such as: Netball, Football, Rugby, Gymnastics and Athletics. These events allow the children to continue to develop skills learnt through our PE Curriculum in a competitive environment. School teams give the children the chance to train weekly and improve with a group of children with a similar skill set. Similarly, we are keen competitors in the annual Crystal Palace competition, which takes place in November for Years 5 & 6, with Year 3 & 4, participating in March. Our very own After School Running Club, is providing the children with opportunity to develop their love of running.

Midfield Park Runners
Midfield are keen runners and have started running with the community. Our local club is Hoblingwell.
