Home Learning

Regular Home Learning

*Reading books (collected in on Wednesdays and sent home on Fridays)

*Letter and number formation (handwriting)

*Weekly home learning tasks set on Fridays on Class Dojo

*Videos on Class Dojo will demonstrate letter and number formation. Please practice naming and writing these with your child. You can also take a photograph and send it to their portfolio. It does not need to be pencil and paper at first, it can also be chalk on the floor, writing with a finger in flour etc

*We ask you to read with your child daily. Please can you share the book with your child and then share any successes or concerns in your child’s reading record. We will change reading books once a week. We will have weekly phonics drop in sessions to be confirmed at a later date.

Thank you for your continued support.

The EYFS Team.

Red words

Most words can be sounds out, we call it 'Fred-talking' the word, e.g. "p - o - t". We can then blend the sound, "pot". Some words can't be Fred-talked. We call them 'red' words. As we can't sound them out we just have to know them. These red word walls give the most common and useful words to learn. Start by learning red wall one and work your way up to get ready for Year 1. This will really help with your reading and writing.
