Harvest Festival - October 2022

On Tuesday 4th October 2022 we held our whole school Harvest Festival, which was a wonderful celebration as everyone came together with an opportunity for some AMAZING singing. Our harvest service was led by Reverend Neil from St Barnabus church who talked to su about the importance of harvest for the Christian community and the world as a whole.

Each year group shared some of their learning and an incredible amount of food was collected in aid of Bromley food bank and The Salvation Army.
Thank you to all our families for your generous support! It has been a great opportunity for our children to think about others in our local community and those who may not be as fortunate as ourselves.

Take a look below at our harvest festival display that was set up in the foyer and some of the wonderful work that the children produced during the week.

Year One learnt about the Harvest Moon Festival - Chinese people believe that as the Harvest Moon is the brightest moon of the year it is a time to celebrate the things that bring love and light into your life.

Year Two learnt about Harvest in Africa and how charities such as 'Self Help Africa' support struggling farmers to grow their own crops. We also learnt about African harvest traditions involving dance and music

Other year groups across the school focused on various other aspects of Harvest, its importance to the everyday and living a sustainable lifestyle.
