Amanda Hughes Vice Chair of Local Committee

I am privileged to be the Vice Chairman to the Local Committee at Midfield Primary School.

I have had a lifelong passion for education and began my teaching career in Plumstead, South East London too many years ago to admit! Most recently I have been been Head of an ‘outstanding’ early years setting and has thoroughly enjoyed my visits to the Nursery and Reception at Midfield.

I now look after my lovely new grandson and care for my elderly mother whilst keeping up to date with current educational changes by teaching part time. When time allows I can be found head down over a sewing machine making bunting, cushion covers and all things creative.

Jackie Barton Head of School

Before joining Midfield, I worked at an ‘outstanding’  primary school in Kent as KS1 leader and English coordinator.  In 2013, I was appointed class teacher and Assistant Head at Midfield, quickly followed by Deputy Head all under the leadership of Mrs Sesli.  Last year, I was privileged to be appointed Head of School with the exciting opportunity of working closely with other Spring Trust Schools and ensuring every child at Midfield receives an outstanding education.

When I'm not working, I enjoy being at home and spending time with my husband, two grown up children and the family dog rescued from Battersea.  At the weekend and during the holidays you will find me either at the gym, swimming, having a coffee with friends, supporting West Ham, reading or walking the family dog.
