Welcome from our Head of School
In November 2017, Midfield was visited by Ofsted who confirmed our judgement that Midfield is an Outstanding school in all areas.
Our school is fortunate to be set within large grounds overlooking Scadbury Woods; it has its own Celtic hut, forest school areas, sports field, edible garden, play area and swimming pool. Outdoor learning experiences are often remembered for a lifetime. At Midfield we believe that outdoor learning helps children grow into confident and responsible citizens who value and appreciate the natural environment; helping them to make sense of the world around them by putting their learning into a meaningful context. At Midfield we encourage resilience and positive attitudes to learning and set high expectations so that pupils can make the best possible progress, achieving their potential.
The arts, physical education, computing, science, the humanities and the development of character are just as important as maths or English results, and it is through a combination of all areas that Midfield children are enabled to leave our school ready for the challenges and opportunities that await them. We want our children to become critical thinkers, to be resilient and resourceful, and to be able to work together to solve problems, and recognise that it is through the development of a relevant and interesting curriculum that these aims are met.
In January 2017, Midfield Primary School became part of the Spring Trust Partnership. Through this partnership the school is able to draw on a range of expertise to enhance the pupils’ personal and academic development. This has also enabled the close working relationship between Midfield Primary and the other schools in the Trust. Midfield is committed to supporting the Spring Partnership Trust vision where every child receives an outstanding education through relentless focus on excellence in teaching and learning, leadership and pastoral care.
We hope you enjoy exploring our website, but nothing will be as good as paying us a visit! If you are new to the area, please call to make an appointment to view the school. If you are an existing parent or carer, you know you are regularly invited in to school.
